Campaign launched to raise awareness of telephone helpline for male victims of domestic violence

Male victim of domestic abuse

A campaign has been launched to raise awareness of a telephone helpline for male victims of domestic violence.

The ManKind Initiative is a leading charity offering help to men and boys who are victims of domestic abuse and offers practical information and emotional support to victims.

In addition, they welcome enquiries from concerned individuals such as anxious relatives, friends or colleagues of men they think might be abused in their own homes.

To further raise awareness, one survivor, Clive Lever, a patron of ManKind Initiative, has written and performed a fundraising song to reassure male victims of domestic abuse that they are not alone and to encourage them to come forward and ask for help. The song, “You’re Not Alone”, is available to download at www.tiny.cc/yna for the price of a donation.

The helpline is open weekdays 10am to 4pm and can be reached on 01823 334244.

Further information can be found on their website www.mankind.org.uk.
