Come along and help plant trees at Elephant Park in Hillingdon on Saturday, November 9th

The London Borough of Hillingdon is inviting residents to come and make a difference to the environment by planting trees on Saturday 9 November from 10am to 1pm.

The park in Windsor Avenue, Hillingdon, has an impressive range of trees including Sweet Chestnut, Hazel, Wild Cherry and Rowan in addition to having an outdoor gym and playing field. There is also a small area of the site dedicated to one of the local residents named Jacks Triangle.

The council was successful in securing a grant of £40,000 from the Greater London Authority to create ponds and ditches which would provide a new and important wetland area for amphibians and aquatic invertebrates as well as increase flood capacity in this flood prone area.

If you would like to help and take part, please ensure you put on your weatherproofs and wear sturdy footwear.
