A man was detained on Friday 2 October after a police pursuit across Hillingdon as part of an ongoing operation prompted by rising resident concerns over road‑related crime. This resulted in the driver’s arrest on multiple offences, including theft of a motor vehicle and drug driving.
Officers, supported by the National Police Air Service, chased the suspect on a moped that reached 90 mph in a 70 mph zone. The pursuit ended with a “tactical contact” that secured the arrest.
The defendant pleaded guilty to seven charges on 20 October. He is due to be sentenced at Southwark Crown Court next Wednesday (11 November).
