From Monday 5 July, Hillingdon Council will be reinstating the remainder of parking restrictions and charges that were temporarily lifted in response to the pandemic.
As lockdown measures ease and the council seeks to help the borough and its economy return to normality, all drivers will once again be required to pay to park in council-owned public car parks and on-street pay and display bays and to display the appropriate permit in required zones.
The free emergency residential permits, in place since November 2020, will now cease to be valid, and residents will no longer be able to park on single yellow lines in parking management scheme areas. Where temporary permits are being displayed, advisory notices will be placed on vehicles to give people advance notice of the reinstatement of normal parking arrangements.
The government-issued Covid-19 NHS parking pass has also been withdrawn, and all NHS staff are advised to contact their line manager to arrange suitable parking, if it is required to carry out their role.
Council Enforcement Officers, the correct title for what the majority of us call traffic wardens, will continue to patrol and advise on how and where to park safely before the change.
