Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters from Northolt, Twickenham, Hayes, Hammersmith, Richmond, Willesden and Hillingdon fire stations were called to a fire at a range of garden outbuildings on Park Avenue in Southall yesterday evening at 5:33pm.
The outbuildings were completely destroyed by fire as well as fencing and shrubs. One 15kg cylinder was removed from the fire and cooled to an ambient temperature as a precaution, as some gas cylinders can explode when exposed to heat. There were no reports of any injuries.
A main railway line was temporally closed while crews used the rail track to fight the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and was under control by 7:41pm.
