Hillingdon Council Welcomes NHS Teams to Civic Centre to Enhance Local Healthcare Services

Hillingdon Council is strengthening healthcare services and optimising public resources by welcoming NHS North West London teams to the Civic Centre in Uxbridge. This strategic relocation will create a more integrated approach to service delivery while maximising the use of council-owned facilities.

The move aligns with the council’s vision of transforming the Civic Centre into a central community hub, where essential services are co-located for improved efficiency and accessibility. By bringing NHS teams under the same roof as adult social care and children’s services, the initiative aims to provide more streamlined and effective support for local residents.

This collaborative working model is expected to enhance service coordination, reduce unnecessary hospital admissions, and facilitate quicker patient discharges into community care.

Approved by the council’s Cabinet in October, this initiative also supports the NHS’s transition to a community-based operating model for Hillingdon. The new approach prioritises care closer to home, focusing on early intervention, self-management, and patient choice.

The NHS teams making the move to the Civic Centre include:

– CNWL corporate teams

– CNWL senior management team

– CNWL clinical service leads

– CNWL contact centre

– Hillingdon Health Care Partners

– Integrated Hub management team

– Clinical Community Collaborative Leads

– Integrated Care Board team

These teams will be relocating from Beaufort House and Boundary House in Uxbridge, consolidating their operations within a centralised location to enhance service accessibility for residents.

Cllr Jane Palmer, Hillingdon Council’s Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care said: “We are delighted to welcome our NHS partners to the Civic Centre.

“This move not only makes more efficient use of our corporate estate, generating income for the council, but also strengthens our collaboration with the NHS, supporting improved outcomes for our residents.

“By working more closely together, we are ensuring that health and care services are more accessible and responsive to local needs.”

Keith Spencer, Managing Director at Hillingdon Health and Care Partners said: “The NHS and local authority in Hillingdon have a strong track record of working in partnership at both operational and strategic levels. This next step brings the leadership of both organisations into one place at the council’s Civic Centre, and illustrates our mutual commitment to the partnership and very crucially, ensuring that public funds can be steered from back office costs to front line delivery of services to patients and residents.”
