Police are investigating after a man died following a collision with a bus in Heston.
Officers were called at 9:20pm last Saturday (21 January) by staff at a west London hospital after a man was admitted with serious injuries. Despite their efforts the man, aged 40, died a short time after arrival.
Police know the identity of the man and have informed his next of kin. They are being supported by specially trained officers. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
It was established that he had been in collision with a bus in Cranford Lane at the junction with Armytage Road at around 7:19pm that evening.
The driver of the bus, a 59-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene. He was taken into custody and has since been released on bail.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing to hear from anyone who might have been driving in the area and caught dash cam footage, or those who might have witnessed the incident.
