Residents in and around Uxbridge are invited to attend a Personal Safety Awareness session, taking place on Monday 28 April 2025. The session has previously proven to be highly popular, offering valuable knowledge and practical skills to help individuals feel more confident and prepared when it comes to personal safety.
The event will be held from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at St Margaret’s Church on Windsor Street in Uxbridge and is open to anyone aged 16 or over. The session is designed to be inclusive and accessible to all members of the community.
Attendees will take part in a basic self-defence class, delivered by a male instructor who is not affiliated with the police. This practical component is designed to introduce participants to simple but effective techniques for staying safe in everyday situations.
Following the class, local police officers will be on hand to speak with attendees, providing an opportunity to raise any personal or neighbourhood safety concerns. This informal discussion session also allows for the sharing of crime prevention advice and useful resources that can be applied in daily life.
Participants will also receive a free goody bag, which includes a selection of personal safety items such as a torch and safety bells, as well as printed materials with tips and guidance on preventing crime.
