Hillingdon Council has installed traffic calming measures to tackle illegal car meets in Hayes and Uxbridge.
Following complaints from residents and businesses, three raised tables were added to Pasadena Close (216m stretch) in Hayes, while Arundel Road (148m stretch) in Uxbridge, received three sets of speed cushions. The latter allows HGVs to pass without disruption.
Funded by Transport for London, these measures aim to curb anti-social driving, including illegal racing and dangerous stunts.
Cllr Eddie Lavery, Hillingdon Council’s Cabinet Member for Community and Environment, said: “We’ve been working closely with the police, TfL and local businesses to tackle this ASB and these new calming measures will not only help make these locations less desirable for these events but also keep residents and businesses safe and free of noise and disturbance.”
