Eastcote House Fire Destroys Loft and Garden Outbuilding

Wentworth Drive streetsign

Four fire engines and roughly 25 firefighters responded to a house fire on Wentworth Drive in Eastcote at 3:47pm last Friday (2 October). The blaze engulfed the loft and an outbuilding in the garden of a semi‑detached property, destroying both structures.

A man who had left the house before the arrival of the crews received treatment from paramedics and was subsequently taken to hospital.

To combat the fire, the brigade deployed a 32‑metre turntable ladder as a water tower, enabling external attack and additional support.

Fire engines where dispatched from Northolt, Wembley, Ruislip fire stations.

By 5:13pm the fire was under control.

Investigators believe the incident was accidental, caused by combustible materials placed too close to a heat source.
