In an early-morning rescue, firefighters saved three individuals from a blazing flat on Midhurst Gardens in Hillingdon this morning (28 June). The incident, saw the destruction of a second-floor communal stairwell.

Firefighters utilised two nine-metre ladders to safely extract the trapped residents from the second floor. The rescued individuals were promptly transported to the hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

The London Fire Brigade’s 999 Control Officers received nine emergency calls and provided essential fire survival guidance to those inside the building until firefighters arrived on the scene.

The alarm was raised at 6:28am and the fire was successfully contained by 7:44am. The response involved four fire engines and approximately 25 firefighters from Hillingdon, Ruislip, Southall, and Northolt fire stations.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by both the London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
