London Fire Brigade water pump | Hillingdon Today

Southall residents were startled in the early hours this morning when a care home on Osterley Park Road caught fire. The fire brigade was called at 3:41am and responded by sending 40 firefighters and six fire engines from Southall, Heston, Hayes, Ealing and Hillingdon fire stations.

Part of a room on the ground floor of the home was completely destroyed by the flames.

One man, fortunate to be saved from the blaze, owed his life to firefighters, who fearlessly entered the burning building wearing breathing apparatus. The rescued individual was promptly transported to the hospital by the London Ambulance Service. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported.

Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control by 04:51am.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
