Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Southall, Hayes and Ealing fire stations tackled a fire at a house on Scotts Road in Southall last Sunday (16th September) afternoon at 1:20pm.
A lean-to at the rear of a semi-detached house was destroyed by fire. Half of the ground floor was also damaged by the blaze and the first floor and the loft conversion were damaged by smoke. The soffit and fascia of a neighbouring property were damaged by fire. Two men left the building before the firefighters arrived. One man was treated on scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
A gas cylinder involved in the fire was cooled to an ambient temperature as a precaution, as some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat.
The fire was under control by 2:30pm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
