Five ideas for the half term break

Today marks the start of the half term school holiday. With a week off, we’ve compiled five things you can entertain the kids with during the half term break.

Denham Country Park

With the rivers Colne and Misbourne flowing through the park and the Grand Union Canal close by, water is a key feature of this attractive park. It is a fantastic place to get out and explore the surrounding countryside, with walks to the picturesque Denham Village and out through the wider Colne Valley. For families the adventure playground and paddling beach adjacent to the café are a must.

Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Complex

Formerly known as Uxbridge Lido, the Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Complex has some fantastic facilities on offer including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, all the latest gym and fitness equipment, a 400m international-standard running track, 3G football pitches, crèche and café.

It even has an Olympic sized 50m indoor competition pool, a training pool and a leisure pool.

Langley Park Country Park

Langley Park has a wide variety of habitats for wildlife including woodland, heathland, wood pasture and grassland. It’s one of the best places in the local area to see a stunning variety of flora and fauna. Parkland trees such as Wellingtonia, Cedar of Lebanon and English Oak, as well as the serpentine lake next to the mansion house, reflect Langley Park’s various stages of development, with influences by the notable landscape designer Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown.

There are designated picnic areas, baby changing facilities, buggy friendly paths, the Jubilee Play Garden for the under 12s and a newly refurbished café.

Jungle Monkeyz soft play centre

Jungle Monkeyz is a family business offering a multi-tiered soft play centre in a safe, secure and stimulating play environment for toddlers and juniors.

Adults can sit back, relax and grab a drink and/or food in the cafe while in full view of their little ones.

Black Park

Black Park covers over 500 acres of woodland, heathland and open space in South Buckinghamshire. With family friendly attractions, such as the adventure playground and Go Ape (charges apply), miles of beautiful woodland tracks and trails, and opportunities for wildlife spotting, the park offers something for everyone to enjoy.
