After an eventful academic year like no other, Year 13 students are celebrating as they leave the Global Academy in Hayes, ready to kickstart their careers in the creative industry by landing places at a wide range of both jobs and apprenticeships in the sector as well as taking their next step in education at some of the UK’s top Higher Education creative establishments and industry training programmes.

After a highly contested internal selection process, an impressive eight students will be starting Apprenticeship roles in the Radio Programming, Video, Marketing and Outdoor Sales teams at Global working directly with their digital, content and commercial teams on brands like Capital, Heart and Radio X. Other students leave the Academy straight into full time jobs and apprenticeships in creative, advertising, digital marketing, video content production and business management roles at companies including Dentsu International, Pinewood Studios, Goal.com, News UK, Ashville, Safo Music Group, Grant Thornton and Costain.

While many students head into employment or apprenticeships, some of the cohort will continue their training in Higher Education at the founding educational partner of Global Academy, University of the Arts London as well as a range of other universities including Goldsmiths, Kingston, Coventry, Ravensbourne, Royal Holloway and the University of Brighton.

Additionally, this year, a handful of students have secured spaces on the highly competitive one-year film traineeship programme in conjunction with ScreenSkills and the National Film and TV School.

Global Academy Principal, Jonty Archibald, said: “This year, more than ever – I am really proud of the wide range of positive creative destinations that our students head off to after Global Academy. Some students are setting up their own business – Global students do it all. The 100% pass rate and over a third of our cohort achieving top grades is a real testament to the hard work the students and staff have done in such testing times over the past Academic year.
