The Old Vinyl Factory In Hayes / Hillingdon Council

Hillingdon Council, in partnership with Hanwell Hootie and Intrepid Collective, is launching the inaugural Old Vinyl Factory Festival on Saturday 15 March to celebrate Hayes’ rich musical heritage.

The free outdoor event runs from 11:30am to 5pm on Record Walk and Material Walk (nearest postcode is UB3 1DP), honouring the legendary Old Vinyl Factory — once home to EMI Records. The festival will showcase local artists, emerging talent, and community groups, reflecting the area’s vibrant cultural scene.

Curated by the Hanwell Hootie Music Festival, the lineup features diverse live performances, including students from the Global Academy, who will also gain hands-on experience in multimedia production and event management.

Attendees can enjoy food and drink stalls from local businesses, a record fair by vinyl enthusiasts Groove Seekers, and a lively atmosphere celebrating Hayes’ historic musical legacy.

Funded by the Mayor of London’s Good Growth Fund, the festival is part of Hillingdon Council’s commitment to revitalising town centres and strengthening the community.

Cllr Steve Tuckwell, Hillingdon Council’s Cabinet Member for Planning, Housing and Growth, said: “To ensure our town centres across the borough remain thriving hubs in the heart of the community, it’s important we adapt to the changing needs of residents and visitors.

“The festival aims to bring communities together to celebrate the vast history of Hayes and the Old Vinyl Factory. The area has exciting potential as a hub for business, creative industries and economic growth.

“A key part of realising that is ensuring the next generation are equipped with the right skills, and it’s fantastic this event will help to nurture young local talent. There will be something for everyone, so make sure to come down and join us.”
