Hillingdon Council has offered 94 per cent of pupils one of their preferred secondary school places. This means that Hillingdon is once again the top west London borough for this and ahead of the London average of 93 per cent.
The council received 3,607 secondary school applications, with 67 per cent of Hillingdon pupils receiving their first choice which also places it higher than the London average of 66 per cent.
The council also secured placements for 95 per cent of students with an Education Health Plan.
Cllr Susan O’Brien, Hillingdon Council’s Cabinet Member for Education and Children and Youth Services, said: “I am proud of the work that has gone into ensuring children are offered a secondary school place in Hillingdon.
“Most of our local children have received their preferred choice, and this is all thanks to the council’s continued investment in high quality education for the borough’s young people.
“Education will always remain a top priority, which is why we have committed to a further £20.8 million to create more school places through our school expansion programme.”
