In a bid to foster diversity and inclusion in the workplace, Hillingdon Autism Care and Support (HACS) is pioneering a groundbreaking initiative, the Reverse Job Fair, which is scheduled to take place at the Uxbridge Civic Centre next week.
Unlike traditional job fairs where employers scout for potential hires, the Reverse Job Fair flips the script, with job seekers taking the reins giving those with autism the opportunity to showcase their skills, passions, and abilities directly to prospective employers. A number of people with autism will each have their own stand to showcase their skills and talk to employers.
Employers attending the fair will have the opportunity to engage with candidates on a personal level, gaining insights into their skills, experiences, and aspirations. By providing a platform for direct interaction, the event aims to break down barriers and challenge misconceptions surrounding autism in the workplace.
With the goal of reaching as many employers as possible, HACS is extending an invitation to businesses across the area to participate in this groundbreaking event. Whether you’re a small startup or a multinational corporation, the Reverse Job Fair offers a unique opportunity to discover and harness the potential of neurodiverse talent.
The event takes place on May 17th from 12-2pm at the Civic Centre in Uxbridge.
Those interested in attending or learning more about the event are asked to contact Amal by email at amal@hacs.org.uk. All companies are free to attend on the day and can show up without prior notice.
