A 55-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson following a fire last Friday (9 August) evening.
Firefighters were alerted to a fire on Kingsend in Ruislip which caused damage to half of a walkway on the side of Waitrose.
One of the London Fire Brigade’s specialised 32-meter turntable ladders was utilised as a water tower, allowing crews to fight the fire from effectively.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported and the fire was brought under control by 12:10AM.
The suspect remains in custody as the investigation continues.
The police are working closely with the London Fire Brigade and other relevant authorities to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
