Man charged after Dad and Daughter stabbed in Tesco superstore

The West London man accused of stabbing a dad and his daughter in Tesco’s Yiewsley store appeared at Uxbridge magistrates court on Saturday (October 19th).

Barry Whittle, 19, of Peplow Close, Hillingdon has been charged with a number of offences including: theft, possession of a knife, theft from a motor vehicle, assault, fraud and false representation and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The offences  are alleged  to have taken place throughout October. One of the alleged incidents took place in the Yiewsley Tesco store on Thursday, October 17th.

During the incident a man was stabbed in the shoulder and a younger teenage girl sustained cuts to her hand.

A Tesco spokesperson said: “Staff and customer safety is always a priority. Tesco will do everything it can to assist police with any investigation. As a criminal investigation is under way it would not be appropriate to comment further at this time”

Uxbridge magistrates ordered Whittle to be remanded in custody until a further hearing at Isleworth Crown Court in November where the case will continue.
