In a verdict delivered by Reading Crown Court on Monday (19 February), 28-year-old Said Nassor, from Slough, has been convicted of attempted murder and attempted robbery following an investigation by Thames Valley Police.
Nassor’s conviction stems from two separate incidents that took place in Slough last year.
The first occurred on the morning of Saturday, March 25th, when Nassor approached a stranger on Yew Tree Road and attacked him, using a knife to cut across the man’s neck. The victim, a man in his fifties, was taken to hospital and was later discharged.
The second incident happened on Monday, March 27th, at approximately 10:30 am, when Nassor entered Barclay’s Bank in Slough and demanded £10,000 whilst being in possession of a knife. He did not threaten anyone with the knife. Police attended the scene and Nassor was arrested.
He was charged on August 23rd last year.
In court, he pleaded guilty to one count of attempted murder, one count of attempted robbery and possession of a knife in a public place.
Nassor has been remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced on 19 April at Reading Crown Court.
Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Stuart May, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “I am satisfied that Said has entered pleas to the crimes he committed.
“Following the stabbing on Yew Tree Road, an investigation was immediately launched and significant enquiries were made to identify the offender.
“The incident at the bank was attended by officers immediately and Nassor was detained. Further investigation then linked the two offences and Nassor was charged and remanded in August.
“These were concerning incidents but thankfully such random incidents are extremely rare. “We would like to thank the victims for their support throughout our investigation.”
