A murder investigation has been launched following a stabbing in Greenford.
At 5:31 PM yesterday (March 11th), police were called to reports of a man found injured in a car on Sudbury Heights Avenue.
Both police officers and paramedics arrived to find a 27-year-old man with severe stab wounds. Despite efforts to save his life, the victim was taken to hospital where he died a short time later.
The identity of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of his next of kin, as investigators continue to piece together the events leading to this gruesome attack.
A crime scene is in place and officers remain in the area.
Detective Chief Inspector Jim Shirley who leads the investigation for one of the Metropolitan Police homicide investigation teams said: “While this investigation remains in its early stages extensive enquiries are already under way to identify who is responsible for this murder.
“Officers have been on scene gathering evidence and securing any relevant CCTV which may assist us building a picture of what took place.
“However, I would appeal to anyone in the area who saw or witnessed events, or any local residents we have yet to speak to who has footage which may captured the incident to get in touch immediately.”
There have been no arrests at this early stage of the investigation.
