Harefield Hospital officially opened today (Mon, 2nd February) the new Peace Gardens which give patients at the back of the Transplant Ward a “wonderful sight out of their windows”.
One patient commented on how it was uplifting to be “greeted by a large window with a view onto a tastefully designed garden”. They said they could imagine how beautiful it would become in the spring, when “colours cascade down from the creepers onto the beds”.
A new Anzac-themed area has been created for patents and family members alike, to take a moment’s rest from the Intensive Care Unit and enjoy both the greenery and sunlight.
It is hoped that the space will improve the mood, sleep and wellbeing of those who visit.
