Members of the West Area Neighbourhood Tasking Team and Special Constables recently ran a joint initiative with TfL Officers looking at minicabs and private hire vehicles.
The initiative, which ran on 18 December, focussed on Hayes Town Centre and Chiswick High Street where it aimed to reassure individuals to feel safe traveling in minicabs and private hire vehicles. It is closely linked to the Violence Against Women and Girls campaign which the Metropolitan Police are currently promoting.
In total, 24 minicabs and private hire vehicles were stopped and had their identities, insurance and license checked.
It is hoped more joint initiatives will be run in the future.
