Uxbridge is one of the first places to get a dedicated Police Town Centre Team, a new scheme which sees officers placed in areas of high demand to patrol busy places at times when they will have the greatest impact on crime and public safety.
This is one of the ways the Metropolitan Police are investing the recent increase in police numbers to address the things that matter most to Londoners. The Town Centre Teams typically consist of 25 additional officers; one Inspector, two sergeants and 21 police constables.
Chief Superintendent Sean Wilson, West Area Commander said “We are increasing our police presence, putting officers where we know the public want to see them most. The new Uxbridge team will focus on making this area safer, tackling violent crime including violence against women and girls and dealing with anti-social behaviour.
“We want communities to regularly see and get to know their local officers, so that they have trust and confidence in them, knowing they are there to help keep them safe.”
