In a proactive move to uphold public safety and enforce regulations, police officers successfully intervened to stop an unauthorised music event yesterday evening (24 February) on the Orbital Industrial Estate, Horton Road in West Drayton.
The event, commonly referred to as an Unlicensed Music Event (UME), was slated to extend through the night into Sunday morning, posing disturbances to local residents.
The measures undertaken by officers involved the closure of the event, arresting the organisers and seizing all the music equipment.
Unlicensed Music Events, notorious for their clandestine nature and disregard for permits and safety standards, have been a longstanding concern for authorities and communities alike. These events often draw large crowds and can lead to noise pollution, antisocial behaviour, and other public disturbances. Moreover, the absence of proper permits means that these gatherings frequently lack adequate safety measures, putting attendees at risk. The intervention by the police not only prevented a potential disruption to the peace of the local area but also sends a clear message that such unauthorised events will not be tolerated. This demonstrates the authority’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the safety and well-being of the local community.
