Police are urging witnesses to come forward following an arson incident in Slough that occurred on Wednesday (28 February).
Fire fighters alerted police to a blaze in a flat on King Edward Street in Slough at approximately 4:50 am.
Fortunately, fire crews were able to extinguish the flames and no injuries were reported.
However, the gravity of the situation is not lost on authorities. A 47-year-old man from Slough and a 14-year-old boy from Hayes were apprehended on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. Both individuals have since been released on police bail until 24 May pending further investigation.
Investigating officer Police Staff Investigator Rina Sahota, based at Slough police station said: “Fortunately, nobody was injured by the fire; however, this took place in a residential area so it could have been much worse.
“I understand there may be some concern caused by the nature of the incident but please be assured there is not thought to be any further risk to the wider public.
“We have made two arrests in relation to the investigation, which is ongoing.
“I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information about this arson to please come forward.
“If you have any CCTV footage in the area or any dash-cam footage if you were in the area around the time, I’d also ask that you check any recordings in case it has captured something that could assist our investigation.
