Police are continuing to appeal for information about a man who has now been missing for more than two months.
Viktor Vaimel, aged 41, was last seen near the River Chess behind Salters Close in Rickmansworth at around 10am on Saturday 3rd July.
Since he was reported missing police have followed several lines of enquiry, including using divers to search the river where he was last seen, and woodland in the local area. They have handed out leaflets to the community, shared information with the Missing People charity and have reached out to both the Estonian community and media.
But more than eight weeks on they have not located Viktor, who is originally from Estonia but now lives in the Tottenham area of London.
On the day he went missing Viktor was visiting his sister Lana, who lives in Three Rivers, Rickmansworth.
Viktor is described as 5ft 10in tall with short brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans with a white T-shirt, white trainers and a black jacket. He is a smoker and often travels by train. At the time he went missing, Viktor had no phone, travel documents, money or bank cards in his possession.
His sister Lana said: “All we want to know is that Viktor is safe. The whole family is extremely worried about him. We hope that he will come back home one day. It’s so painful for us to live in such an uncertainty. We love him and we wish he could just call us to say he is okay. Every day we are thinking of him.”
Chief Inspector Alex Warwick, said: “It has been more than two months since Viktor’s family have heard anything from him and it has understandably been an incredibly difficult time for them.
“We are doing all we can to bring them good news, but sadly our enquiries to date have not led us to any answers.
“Missing person cases are by their very nature challenging to investigate, and our enquiries in relation to bank accounts, local CCTV, phone activity and social media footprints have not produced any leads in relation to Viktor’s whereabouts, nor have searches of local river and woodland areas.
“If you have any information at all, please come forward and speak to us. Viktor’s family deserve answers.”
If you have seen Viktor since he went missing, or have information on his whereabouts, please call the non-emergency number 101, quoting Hertfordshire Police reference ISR 421 of 3 July.
