West Drayton commuters and residents can now benefit from improved transport connectivity as essential bus services have returned to the station forecourt last Saturday (18 January). The resumption of key routes, including the 222, U1, and U3 buses, enhances accessibility and convenience for travellers in the area.

The reinstatement of these crucial bus services strengthens West Drayton’s role as a vital transport hub, offering seamless connections to Greater London. Local passengers can now benefit from easier and more efficient travel options, reinforcing the station’s importance within the transport network.

The return of bus services follows the successful completion of major improvement works in December 2024. These upgrades focused on resolving long-standing drainage issues and enhancing pedestrian access, ensuring a safer and more accessible environment for all commuters.

Assembly Member Bassam Mahfouz, a dedicated advocate for the forecourt improvement project, has played a key role in championing the completion of the works and the reinstatement of accessible bus services. His ongoing efforts have been instrumental in delivering these essential transport enhancements to the local community. He told Hillingdon Today: “After months of dedicated work and significant upgrades, I’m delighted to see buses once again serving West Drayton Station. This marks a huge step forward in improving accessibility and connectivity for local residents and commuters. The completion of these works represents not just an infrastructure improvement but also a meaningful enhancement to the quality of life for everyone who relies on these services.”

Member of Parliament for Uxbridge and South Ruislip, Danny Beales, added: “I’m incredibly pleased to see the return of essential bus services to the station. As the local Member of Parliament, I’ve worked collaboratively with the GLA, Network Rail and local residents to work to get this bus back up and running. This marks a significant milestone in bettering transport links for our community, and from now on, local commuters will have a more convenient and accessible option for their everyday travel.”

Residents and commuters in West Drayton can now enjoy a more connected and convenient travel experience, thanks to the improved infrastructure and restored bus routes.
