Witness appeal following fatal collision in Yeading

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal collision in Yeading.

Officers were called at 04:29am last Friday (14 October) to reports of an unresponsive person at Willow Tree Lane.

Police and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a man aged in his 30s with injuries. The man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing to locate and inform his next of kin.

The man was in collision with a van which did not stop at the scene.

The van was later traced to Gosport in Hampshire. A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is en route to police custody in London.

Detective Sergeant Nush Puvitharan of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident or any road users with dash cam footage who captured this incident to get in touch. While an arrest has been made we need to build a complete picture of the events that has led to this tragic incident.”
